Una terraza en la ciudad
It's August 15th. Summer is getting along hot and humid and my holidays are about to end.
This year I spent a bit of my free time with my relatives in the countryside, in a house with a garden and an orchard. Nature always makes me feel connected...To what? To life I guess. To my deepest inner conscience maybe. It makes me step on the ground again and re-balance myself. The silence of a warm breeze and of the leaves moving gently is, for me, as a mumble that tells me to calm down. Something that reminds me the importance of small things. It clears my head and thoughts.
I am lucky as in Barcelona, I live in a penthouse that has a beautiful terrace, big enough to be able to have some plants, a dinner table and a barbeque. I 'm so grateful to have it. Gardening a bit always helps me relaxing and gives my head some clear thinking when need it. To work at home in my own studio as a freelance illustrator might seem wonderful: no bosses, no super early wake ups, just my rules.... But the truth is that is much harder and lonelier than it looks. Its not something that many freelance talk about, we just concentrate on the nice things, but is true: it can be one hell of a burden not having anyone whom to share your thoughts and problems with. Having a nice environment is a "must" if you are working at home by your own.
I'm so happy to have an outside space where to enjoy a blue sky, a fresh wind and some green.
